BIG BRICK CELEBRATION!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin Pizza Staple Brick Oven to Celebrate their 35th Anniversary

Austin, Texas, August 11, 2017—One of Austin’s most beloved pizza joints, Brick Oven, will be ringing in their 35th year of business this September. While Austin boasts one of the most burgeoning dining scenes in the nation, Brick Oven proves that quality service, coveted recipes, and dedication to their community can trump any food trend that comes in and out of the city. And that’s a lot to be proud of.

Brick Oven broke ground in 1982 in downtown Austin and added a second location in Northwest Austin in 1989. The restaurant boasts the largest Brick Oven in Texas from original designs and cast pieces that are over 100 years old. Each Brick Oven weighs over 20,000 pounds and burns three cords of oak wood every month to maintain temperatures of nearly 700 degrees. The massive size and high temperatures assure fast, consistent cooking and give our food a unique character and flavor. In fact, the fire has consistently burned downtown since the day the doors opened, and has not gone out once.

Owner Stan Adams, his partner Donnie Johnson, and their team will be celebrating this milestone with a month’s worth of specials that welcome customers, new and old, into the Brick Oven family. Patrons will receive 35% off of any large pizza order (their signature item) throughout the month of September. Additionally, Adams and company are whipping up SURPRISE prizes —the catch is you need to go in to hear about them and for your chance to win.

“Thirty five years ago, inspired by similar pizzerias in Italy and the Northeast, Brick Oven began with a dream of bringing authentic Brick Oven Pizza to the vibrant young Capitol of Texas. We hand built the largest wood-fired ovens in Texas and won immediate recognition for our efforts. Austin has grown tremendously since and so has the Brick Oven family. The most rewarding part of our success is still seeing many familiar faces we first got to know 30 years ago. Thank you for your support and for spreading the word! Also, it is impossible to say thank you enough to our employees who have really built our business and our reputation. Many have worked with us for more than 20 years and countless others have gone to impressive careers, but still visit and stay in touch. We are grateful to so many for our success for all the wonderful opportunities we have enjoyed. Thank you all so much!” – Stan and Debbie Adams

The 35th Anniversary festivities kick off on September 1, 2017 and will last through September 30, 2017. Whether you’ve been frequenting the joint since 1982 or are stepping in for your first time, Brick Oven welcomes you to the table and extends the invitation to celebrate the occasion.

Just Breathe and Have Some Fun

Whether you’re in shock or celebrating, we think everyone can all agree that we can finally breathe a little after a tumultuous election season. The Brick Oven family is a huge advocate of coming together and being optimistic, so here are a few reminders that might lift your spirits (or at least keep your stomach happy!).

*Tonight and EVERY Wednesday is Wine Down Wednesday. Featured bottles of wine are 1/2 price. You just can’t beat that, so round up a couple friends and let your stresses melt away.

*Thursdays are $2 pint night. Whether it’s celebrating the weekend one day early or a much-deserved happy hour, supplement your pizza with some pints every Thursday.

*It’s still college football season! The Longhorns are 5-4 and 7th in the Big 12, so they can use a little hometown cheer through the remainder of the season. Plus, there are two home games left on the 12th and 25th, so round up your family and friends and hook ’em. If you can’t make it to a home game, you can always enjoy the game here or our sister restaurant Baretto right next door.

We are hard at work bringing you redesigned menus and new specials so sit tight, enjoy each other’s company, and try not to take life too seriously. 🙂
