It’s not every day we get the opportunity to feed a pack of touring bands which is why we were so excited to host dinner for We Came As Romans, a metalcore band that just finished their US headlining tour, their friends, and their direct support band, The Plot In You.
We were able to spend some time with WCAR’s lead guitarist, Joshua Moore, to learn more about what goes into living on the road for months at a time. When asked about finding decent meals on the road, he responds with a laugh and then, “Decent meals on the road… don’t really exist! Although we try to have a set schedule to every day, anything can change at any moment. We popped a trailer tire and we’re late to load in, there’s a leak in the bathroom and doors open 30 minutes late, the opening bands didn’t play their whole set and we play 15 minutes early, and so on. UberEats and fast food, which to me are like the same thing, are pretty much my meals just out of convenience. Being able to sit down at a great restaurant today with my friends and my girlfriend was something I rarely get the blessing of doing on the road, and I’m very thankful for Brick Oven for welcoming us for dinner.”
We know bands work incredibly hard on the road, away from loved ones, and want to show our support which is why we’re proud to support them and provide lunch. If you know of any bands touring through Austin, send us a tweet and let us know so we can reach out, link up and feed them!
